What was your first experience playing a game?
I remember sitting in front of a black-and-white TV playing Pong at a friend’s place. Wow, I feel so old.

Proudest gaming moment?
I guess over the years you almost have a shrine in your head where you keep all these moments. The first I keep dear to my heart is when I finished The Hobbit on the Commodore 64.
Two years ago, I finished Plants vs. Zombies from PopCap, but since then I’ve been playing far too many social games. For a few weeks I stayed ahead of my friend Eric in Zynga’s Café World, which I was proud about.

Currently I am playing the beta of Petroglyph’s Rise of Immortals and during my lunch break I play some Army Attack. As always, Eric is miles ahead of me. ;-)

What brought you to iQU?
I have done business with Reinout over the past five years. With him as the leader and with the amazing talent on board, I know we can shape the gaming space.

What was your first experience playing a game?
My first gaming experience was Ghostbusters on the Commodore 64. It required a separate hardware attachment — a cassette player, if you can imagine — as the game was stored on a cassette tape. Trading it in for $50 to raise funds for my SEGA Master System remains one of the saddest memories of my life.

Proudest gaming moment?
My proudest gaming moment, of which there are many, was breaking into Diamond League in StarCraft 2. At the time, it placed me within the Top 200 players in Southeast Asia and it required more than eight hours of practice a day for just over five months. Today I play StarCraft 2 casually, though I’ll always remember how it felt to be at the top.

What brought you to iQU?
My arrival at iQU was an unusual one; I had been working as a journalist and site editor with the MMOGames.com portals while living in Australia and studying professional writing. Reinout Te Brake, iQU’s CEO, caught wind of my plans to travel to Asia after completing my studies and asked if I’d like to come to Holland and work at the iQU Headquarters instead. Nine months later my girlfriend and I boarded a plane bound for Amsterdam and never looked back.
